Obituary for Brenda Ellen (Bump) Deckard
Brenda Ellen (Bump) Deckard, age 54, of Bedford, Indiana passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois on December 29, 1965 to Larry and Barbara (Cook) Bump. Brenda enjoyed camping, taking trips, going to the movies, playing games on her phone, and she loved to read. She also loved her cats and dogs. Brenda was currently working at Indiana University and had been for over five years.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Tim Deckard, parents, sister, Becky Booe (Scott), nieces, Ashley, Caitlin, and Abby Booe, sisters-in-law, Ruth Riley and Theresa Cain, and brothers-in-law, George and Mike Deckard.
Brenda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Florence Bump, maternal grandmother, Naomi Cook, mother-in-law, Sharon Simmons, and aunt, Peggy Hammil.
Visitation and funeral services for Brenda have been limited to private family only.
Burial will be at Kinser Cemetery in Bedford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Brenda’s name.
Due to the CDC Mass Gathering recommendation enforced by Indiana Governor, Eric Halcomb no more than 50 people are allowed in a room at a time. We have made the difficult decision to have Brenda Deckard’s Funeral Service and visitation be restricted to immediate family only. While this is not our ideal situation we ask that you understand we are all new at this reaction to the pandemic situation at hand.
