George J Gannage II, 63, passed away Monday April 6, 2020.

Born on March 23, 1957 in Livonia Michigan, to George J Gannage Sr and Rose Gannage. The third born of four siblings, George shared the same birthdate as his father, who showed great pride in his son, along with his mother who adored him.

Upon graduating from Eastern Michigan University, George pursued a career in sales, while also continuing his graduate degrees, eventually earning a PhD in Marketing, and subsequently working as a professor at Kennesaw State University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and the University of Maryland. His teaching specialties included consumer behavior, marketing and professional selling.
In 2017, George joined the faculty of Ball State University as Assistant Teaching Professor of Marketing and Assistant Director of the Center for Professional Selling in the Miller College of Business. He also served as advisor to the BSU Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association and Pi Sigma Epsilon Sales and Marketing Fraternity. As Assistant Director of the Center for Professional Selling, George worked tirelessly, according to his colleagues, coaching many of the center’s sales teams that won numerous awards in national student sales competitions.
A lifelong lover of sports, since his childhood days playing hockey, George was an avid fan of skiing, golf, NASCAR, football and Tiger’s baseball. He also enjoyed traveling and holidays. George never missed an opportunity to dress up in his best holiday attire.
A caring, intelligent, hardworking, funny and charismatic man. George's positive energy and outgoing spirit filled many rooms throughout his life. He made friends with everyone he met. He was a kind man, with a childlike heart. May his spirit live on for eternity.
George is survived by his two children, whom he loved deeply and was so proud of, a daughter, Chelsea, in Chicago IL, a son, Sawyer, in Atlanta GA and their mother Nancy Gannage in Cleveland, OH. Also survived by sister, Denise Johnson, in Brighton MI, and brother David Gannage in Northern Michigan.
A funeral service for George Gannage will be scheduled for late Summer 2020.
