Obituary

Jeanne Elizabeth Kessell (Kilpatrick), age 90 of Bloomington Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at her residence. Jeanne was born in Braidwood, Illinois on March 1, 1930, to Craig and Verna Kilpatrick. Jeanne was an independent person who enjoyed traveling the world. When not traveling she could be found cooking elaborate dishes for her friends and family. In her spare time Jeanne loved to volunteer at WonderLab Science Museum and Bloomington Thrift Shop, Inc. of the Zeta Chapter of Psi Iota Xi. Jeanne always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and giving back to her community.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Lisa Peneff (George), Grandchildren, Kristen Ronning (Nick), Michelle Broski (Mike), and Alexis Peneff, Great-Grandsons, Theodore and Watson Ronning, who she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brother, Don Kilpatrick, and many nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kessell, parents, and brother, Albert Kilpatrick.
There will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I will miss Jeanne very much Have known her for many years. Met her in Bloomington Newcomers . Many happy times playing Bunco. Loved going to her house and enjoying her great cooking . We spent lots of time just talking and sharing our life experiences. She was so proud of her family and I loved sharing her joy about her great grandsons. She always showed pictures of the family she loved so much. God speed my friend. Hope I meet you again on the other side. Mary Jo Roberts

Jeanne will be missed by all her sisters in Psi Iota Xi Philanthropic Sorority. I worked with Jeanne on the sorority board and in the Thrift Shop. She was always gracious and kind to everyone around her. April Legler

Jeanne was a special person, and I feel blessed to have known her. I was fortunate to get to know Jeanne over the bridge table over the past seven years. She had such a warm and sweet nature. She will be missed, but comfort comes from knowing she is in the loving embrace of our Lord. My thoughts and prayers are with Jeanne's family. Armelda Mayfield

Jeanne was such a great lady. She loved her family and talked endlessly about them. I admired her for her sunny personality and quick wit. She was devoted to the causes she believed in and spent many hours at the thrift store. My connection to Jeanne was through bridge...She loved bridge and she was so fun to play with, I will miss her terribly. My thoughts are with you and your family. Debbie Horan
