Obituary for Ryan Scott "Big R" Jordan

Ryan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at his home. Ryan was a graduate of Bloomington High School South and Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Business. Ryan worked at Carlisle Brake and Friction as the Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and considered all the members to be like family. If you knew Big R, you knew racing was his passion, watching and attending many races with a love for sprint cars and the Bloomington Speedway. Ryan had many close friends. His favorite weekends consisted of riding 4 wheelers, bon fires, singing karaoke, playing corn hole, grilling steaks and watching racing with the “Smithville family.”
Ryan will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He always made a point to include his Mom, Dad and brother in everything he did. We are all truly blessed for each and every moment we were able to spend with him. He was a true friend and gentleman who was always there for you when you needed him.
Ryan is survived by his Mom and Dad, Ricky and Laura (Shelly) Jordan; Brother, Tyler Jordan; Grandmothers, Caroline Grubb and Lucinda Bastin; Grandparents, Stephen and Mary Ellen Waltz;
Uncles, Stephen Waltz (Angela) and Michael Waltz; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
