Elizabeth “Betsy” Decker, age 77, of Martinsville, Indiana passed away at IU Health Morgan Hospital on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. Betsy was born in Seymour, Indiana on February 23, 1943 to Albert and Sara (Marling) Lucas.
Betsy graduated from Seymour High School, and then received a Master’s Degree from Indiana University. She was a Licensed Social Worker in Indiana. Betsy loved to help people and was very devoted to her work. She enjoyed her dogs, and reading and writing. Throughout high school, Betsy was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
Betsy is survived by her sons, David (Kara) and Joseph Decker, her grandchildren, Scott, Lucas, Sara, Jakob, and Daniel Decker, and Ian Kirton, her great-grandchildren, Liah and Alexia Decker, her brothers, Daniel and Warren Lucas, several nieces and nephews, and her extended family, her lifelong best friend, Carol Bridges, and Sean Morris, whom she always cared for like a son.
Betsy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold “Dean” Decker, her daughter, Deanna Lynn Decker, and her parents.
Services for Betsy will be at a later date.
