Raymond William McClaren, 81 of Bloomington, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born January 8, 1939 in Evansville and was the son of the late John William and Alma Caroline (Daub) McClaren.
Raymond received a degree in Business from the University of Evansville. He retired from Kroger where he worked for 43 years as a Clerk and DSD/Receiving. He also completed the ICS International Correspondence Schools Public Accounting Program (CPA) in 1974 and he prepared taxes from then on. He received a Certificate of Award from H&R Block in 1974. He was a member of the Little Union Baptist Church. Raymond loved to go antiquing with Shirley and enjoyed going to antique car and tractor shows with his brother. He loved the outdoors and flowers, along with gardening and farming. He enjoyed being outdoors with his children and grandchildren and loved collecting different things like stamps, license plates, die cast tractors and other farming equipment, memorabilia from local businesses and many other things. He served his country in the Army National Guard in Evansville.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Ann McClaren; daughter, Kathie Renee McClaren; son, Jason Raymond McClaren; 3 grandchildren, Trey McClaren, Zoey McClaren and their mother Abbie Knight, and Raylee McClaren and her mother Brittany Wilson; brother Ronald Clarence McClaren; and Lilly Lawson who lived with Raymond and Shirley for several years and was a special part of their family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation for Raymond will be on Wednesday, June 3 from 4-8 pm at The Funeral Chapel.
Services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, June 4, 2020 at The Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hauersperger officiating. Burial will follow at Little Union Cemetery.
Due to gathering restrictions we will be limited to 50 people at a time for the visitation and service
Donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or American Legion Burton Woolery Post 18
