Donald Albert Swafford, age 94, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at his residence on June 7, 2020. He was born on March 14, 1926 in Bloomington to Charles and Puline Swafford. Donald is a United States Navy Veteran, and served during WWII on the USS Kula Gulf. He worked at RCA for 36 years, and attended Family Life and Worship Center in Bloomington. Donald was a caring and devoted husband and father.
Donald is survived by his wife of 71 years, Darleen (O’Neill) Swafford, five children, Ron and Julia Swafford of North Vernon, Indiana, Jack and Carla Swafford of Ellettsville, Indiana, Mike and TJ Swafford of Gosport, Indiana, Gerrie and Mike Carroll of Bloomington, Indiana, and Tara and Richard Hoffman of Laport, Indiana, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Dennis, twin Dale, Dallas, and Mary Lou.
Visitation will be private for family at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
