Bloomington - Daniel C. Brown, 53, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis from heart failure.

Daniel was born in Bloomington, Indiana on August 1, 1966. He grew up with an interest in boating and sports. He graduated from Bloomington High School South in 1985 and was a proud member of the football team. He attended Indiana University as well as receiving his real estate license. Daniel’s genuine desire became the health and wellness of those he loved. In Sarasota, Florida he was accepted into the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy. He was awarded a diploma from The National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in 1998. He also received certifications in Body and Foot Reflexology, Sports Massage Pain Relief and Reiki. This was the path he followed and the work he continued.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lynn; his daughter Elly; his son Leo; his father, Bill; his sisters Claire Baker, Carol Remak, and Lisa Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patty, and his sister Julie Probst.

His children were his pride and joy and gave his life a purpose. Even in her time of sadness his daughter Elly reached out with the most comforting words. She said, “I know he died of heart failure but only because he loved too much”.

The family will be forever grateful for the unconditional love of his many friends and family.

A private service is being held for the family and a Celebration of Life will be arranged for a later date.

Daniel had a special love for animals. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Monroe County Humane Association.

Met Daniel during high school, although it wasn't til college did we become close. Daniel, I will always think of the time we spent together, I am grateful you chose to be close to me. You, me and Eric were always not far apart, for the better part of two decades. When I moved to Nashville, you picked me up every Friday and returned me to town in time for work, every week, you never missed once, not too mention didn't leave me waiting for you. You gave without ever asking or expecting anything in return. I've always felt those years and our friendship was a high light of my life. I love you and I'll miss you, I know now you are finally fully peaceful. I will see you again my friend and in the meantime. I know Eric is happy to see you, way way too soon, but he always loved you too, so I'll take comfort in knowing you aren't alone in heaven. You have and will always mean the world to me. Mark

Iʼm afraid I havenʼt seen Dan in the past few years, but I have been thinking of him now and then. Dan was a kind soul—and a funny one!—and folks will continue to think of him. Deepest condolences to Bill and the entire family.

I had known Daniel for decades, we used to play in his backyard on his train as kids, and he and my brother became best friends. I hadn't seen him for a good number of years, but he was at our dads services giving big bear hugs and condolences, which was greatly appreciated. RIP Daniel, and much love to Lynn, the kids, his parents and all family and friends. April

Grateful to know u💜
