Obituary for Larry R. Byers
Larry R. Byers, 73, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Larry was born March 1, 1947 in Bloomington and was the son of the late George and Violet (Mood) Byers.
Larry was a Service Specialist for 38 years for Indiana Gas/Vectren. He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed antiquing with his wife and loved to spend time with his grandsons.
Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Arlene I. Byers; two daughters, Shannon (Jay) Taylor and Susan (Dave) McClain; 6 grandsons, Zachary Allam, Tyler (Jenna) Allam, Cory Harden, Kyle Harden, Jack McClain, and Liam McClain; and 5 brothers, Irvin Byers, Jerry Byers, Joey Byers, Victor Byers, and Randy Byers.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kara Dawn Byers; sister, Verna Perry; and brother Ivan Byers.
Services for Larry will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 11, 2020 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard. Pastor Danny Hillenburg will officiate the service and burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of services at The Funeral Chapel.
