Obituary for Dwight Ralph May

Dwight Ralph May, 81, of Bloomington, passed away at home on Friday, July 24, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was born July 29, 1938 in Monroe County and was the son of the late Sherman and Nellie (Hillenburg) May.
Ralph was a Produce Manager having worked at Loudens, Ralph’s T Mart, Midtown Grocery, just to name a few. After retirement, he finished his career working with his sons at May Brothers Construction. He loved hunting, mushrooms, fishing and enjoyed watching IU basketball and NASCAR. Most of all he was a family man. He was a member of Blackwell Pentecostal Church.
Ralph is survived by two daughters: Robin (Michael) Evans and Diana (Darin) Bowlen; 3 sons: Randy (Brandy) May, Darrin (Julie) May, and Mark (Beth) May; two sisters: Glenda (Roger) Krebbs, Deretha (Jim) Riddle; two brothers: Jervis May and Charles (Janie) May; grandchildren: Luke (Shelby), Austin (Alyssa), Emily (DJ), India (Derek), Karis, Jenna, Aly, Andrew (Tara), Promise (Ricky), Grace (David), Beca, Marshall, Wendell, Nellie, Maria, Landon, Adia, Isabella, and Maximus; and great grandchildren: Scarlett, Gage, McKenzie, Morgan, Ari, and Tatelynn.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Darlin Sue (Lake) May; his parents; infant daughter, Cheryl Ann May; siblings: Peggy Keutzer, Phyllis May, Patsy May, Gayllis May, Delmar May, Martha (Lake) May who Ralph and Sue raised for a few years.
Visitation for Ralph will be 4-8 pm Monday, July 27, 2020 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Blooomington.
Services will be 11 am Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Blackwell Pentecostal Church, 9018 S. Chapel Hill Road (4 miles south of the causeway). Ralph’s son-in-law, Darin Bowlen will officiate the service and burial will follow at Cloverhill Cemetery.
