Gary David Richardson, age 76, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born on May 31, 1944 in Monroe County, Indiana to Woodrow and Elma (Stewart) Richardson. Gary graduated from Bloomington High School in 1962, and then served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Indiana University in 2003 after working there for 37 years. Gary enjoyed car shows and always went to Auburn on Labor Day Weekend. He enjoyed going to Air Force museums, going for drives with his wife, Bobbie, and collecting model cars. Gary loved to wash and wax his vehicles, but most of all, Gary loved his wife, daughter, and grandchildren deeply.
Gary is survived by his wife, Barbara “Bobbi” (Fender) Richardson, daughter, Jennifer Finch of Lexington, Kentucky, grandchildren, Braeden and Alexandra Finch of Lexington, Kentucky, brother, Tim Richardson, and sister, Patricia Fowler.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Alberta Fender.
Visitation for Gary will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday at The Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Smithville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe County Veteran’s Honor Guard or IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
