Obituary for Joyce Marie (Hobbs) Wampler
Bloomington ---- Joyce Marie (Hobbs) Wampler, 67, of 2503 Camden Dr. Bloomington Indiana died at 5:38 p.m. Friday August 14, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born August 30, 1952, in Brown County Indiana, she was the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Bales) Hobbs. She married Gary Wampler December 20, 1969 and were members of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church for 45 years. Joyce was owner of Little People’s Daycare for 15 years, co-owner of Wampler Apartment Rentals for 45 years, and retired from Monroe County School after 17 years.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Carl Wampler of Bloomington, two daughters Tena Marie Porter of Bloomington, Crystal Irene Wampler of Chino Hills California, one son Rusty Carl Wampler of Bloomington and step-son Rodney Lee Wampler of Bloomington: seven grandchildren Joseph Mimms, Mollie Porter, Keith Wampler, Grace Allen, Daegan Wampler and Avery Wampler: two sisters Sondra Clay of Bedford and Christy Lancello and her husband of Indianapolis as well as 15 nieces and nephews, two sister-in-law’s Martha Hupp and Rita Barrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Dorothy (Bales) Hobbs, four sisters, Diana Durham, Geneva Hobbs, Wilma Sokol and Alberta Squires; and four brothers, Mason Hobbs, Clayton Hobbs, Jack Hobbs, Donny Hobbs and two half-brothers Keith and Kenneth Ault; In-Laws Carl (Woodrow) Wampler husband of Viola McClary Wampler Sturgeon, one sister-in-law Susie Hatchett, and one brother-in-law Leon Hupp.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 20, at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church of Bloomington. Tom Ellsworth officiating. Burial services will proceed after at Mount Gilead Church in Monroe County. Friends and family may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 19 at The Funeral Chapel of Bloomington and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on August 20 at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
