Michael Alan Deckard, 69, of Martinsville passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. Mike was born August 6, 1951 and was the son of the late John H. and Mary E. (Cazee) Deckard.
Mike was a graduate of Smithville High School and retired from General Electric after 37 years.. Mike’s greatest joys in his life were cars and his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife, Vera Franklin-Deckard; 4 sons, Robert Franklin, Caleb Griffin, Aaron Brill and Dylan Brill; 2 brothers, John L. Deckard (Marcella), and Kenneth R. Deckard (Karen); 4 wonderful grandchildren, Hunter Franklin, Ciera Brill, Elise Brill and Kent Brill; nieces, Debbie Bruner, Michelle Deckard, Stephanie Deckard; and nephew Terry Deckard.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Enoch and Pearl Deckard and Archie Delbert and Gertrude Cazee.
A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 2-6 pm at Smithville Park. It will be Cruise-In Style with snacks and drinks provided. Bring your rides, your lawn chairs and your stories and share some memories.
