Travis Allan Goodman, 43, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020.
Born November 28, 1976 in Bloomington he was the son of Thomas Allan Goodman and Helen Louise Woods.
Travis had been fighting kidney disease since 2007 when his mom donated her kidney to him, but he still ended up on dialysis for the rest of his short life. He was a very strong person with a high spirited personality that always looked at life positively. As a small boy he played the trumpet, was in show choir and loved sports. As he became a man he loved hiking and adventures. He became an expert with saltwater aquariums and found happiness in watching the fish and corals. His knowledge on so many different things was so amazing. Travis also loved Bob Marley and the song, Everything Is Gonna Be Alright.
Travis is survived by his mother, Helen Woods; father, Thomas Goodman; son Keenan Goodman-May; brother, Jeremiah Goodman (Akiko); grandparents, John and Julia Arthur; aunt, Lori Meadows (who taught him his ABC’s and to read) and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Dwayne Woods; grandparents, Charles and Lois Bennett, grandfather, Robert “Cookie” Goodman and an aunt, Sherri Fuller.
Special thanks to Vicky and Don, who sacrificed their time away from their family to love and support Travis and his mother. As well as a special thanks to everyone at the Dialysis Clinic who helped Travis with his dialysis treatments, allowing us to enjoy him for these extra years, especially, Theresa Travis, MD; Ellen Sharp, social worker; Teresa H. Kessler, nurse.
The family has chosen cremation with no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard are being entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions to be made to the National Kidney Foundation in memory of Travis.

As a father, I cannot even imagine what your parents have been going through.

I send you my love and prayers Travis.
God bless you and all your family.

Light up the universe, wild one. Your enduring smile is what I will remember the most.

One of my many great memories is sitting on his sectional for 4 hours talking about life. Everything from Holistic medicine, politics to salt water tanks. He was so intelligent and passionate. Travis will always hold a special place in my heart forever and always!

As the sun sets on the season of your life,
may you stay close to that wild spirit within you that has always yearned to be free.
May you gently find your way to the angels who are calling your sweet name.
May your mind slip into that eternal light that holds all the stars, the sun, and the galaxies together.
This is an ending for us, but a new beginning for you.
Every tear shed is a memory loved.
I will look for you in the trees.
I will feel your presence in the wind
I will remember your soul for the rest of my days.

“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the force. Mourn them not.”
