Obituary for Rev. Donald Ray Gardner

Donald R. Gardner, 75 went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 16, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Don was born January 8, 1945 in Bloomington, Indiana, the son of Jesse and Minnie (Davis) Gardner. He was a graduate of Bloomington High School.
Don married the love of his life, Connie Fleener on April 9, 1968. They were married 52 years. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in Vietnam and aboard the USS Wasp. He was a minister of the gospel for 50 years serving churches in Washington, IN, Vincennes, IN, Vernonia, OR, Chapel Hill, IN and presently the Pastor of the Old Time Apostolic Church in Greene County. He was a 50 year member of the Plumber and Steamfitter Local 136. He enjoyed working on old tractors.
He was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and is survived by his wife, Connie (Fleener) Gardner; one daughter, Carrie (Kevin) Porter; two sons, David (Michelle) Gardner and Daniel (Reba) Gardner; grandchildren, Stacey (Dakota) Houshour, Brittany Baker, Joshua (Christy) Gardner, Caleb (Kasey) Gardner, Nathaniel Gardner, Shelby Gardner, Jeremiah (Felicity) Terrell and Janine Terrell; great grandchildren, Savannah, Clayton, Noralee, Candi, Davinee, Isaac, Hadley, Jakob, Karleigh and Shane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles, Robert, Paul and sisters, Betty and Sharon.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 4-8 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington and on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 10 am until service time at the Old Time Apostolic Church, 10784 E. State Road 54 Bloomfield, IN
Services will be 11 am Friday at the Old Time Apostolic Church with burial to follow at Garrison Chapel Cemetery. Pastors Allen Jackson and Neil Pedro will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Old Time Apostolic Church.
