Obituary for Malcolm "Butch" Abbott

Malcolm “Butch” Abbott, age 70, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at Monroe Hospital on December 2, 2020. Butch was born on May 24, 1950 in Bloomington to Joseph “Jay” and Gladine (Hughbanks) Abbott. Butch served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 until 1973 in the VMCJ-3 Air Wing Squadron, which was an electronic warfare and photo reconnaissance squadron. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, traveling, golfing, and spending time with his family.
Butch is survived by his wife, Linda (Scank) Abbott, son, Robert Abbott, daughter, Heather Taillon (Scott), granddaughter, Alexa Taillon, siblings, Joe Abbott (Mary), Ruth Kowalski, John Abbott, and Susan Trotter (John), and several nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Chester Thomas Abbott.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitation will be private.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 310 N. Johnson Ave. Bloomington, Indiana.
