Minford Stevens, 91, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his residence.
Born, August 11, 1929 in Clear Springs, IN; he was the son of the late George and Pearl (Reeves) Stevens.
Minford was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War.
He was an Electrician at Westinghouse/ABB for 32 years. He also worked a second job at local stone mills to provide for his family.
Minford married his lovely wife Shirley in 1963. He was a Christian man and the salt of the earth. He was also a man of integrity, morals, and scruples.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather who was devoted to his family and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley (Waterford) Stevens, daughter, Jennifer Waterford (Edward Barnett), grandsons, Duncan Waterford and Garrett Daniels, great-grandson, Wiley Waterford, and several nieces and nephews.
Minford was preceded in death by a son, Allen Dale Stevens, daughter, Beth A. Daniels and brothers and sisters, Marshall, Martha, Marylee, Mildred, Morris, and Millard.
Visitation will be 10am-11am Thursday, January 21, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard in Bloomington.
A private family service will follow with Pastor Harold Godsey officiating. Burial will be at Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
