Obituary for Tommy L. Pleasant
On Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 12:13 pm, Tommy L. Pleasant, loving father and grandfather, passed away in Bloomington, Indiana at age 70.
Tommy was born January 5, 1951 in Greeneville, Tennessee to Samuel and Mary (Stalcup) Pleasant. Tommy graduated from Bloomington South High School and spent the majority of his working career at RCA. Tommy grew up in the Apostolic church under Pastor Frame at the Pentecostal Faith Assembly, remaining there when Pastor Douglas took over the ministry. Tommy’s faith in God never faltered all the way to the end.
Tommy had a passion for wood whittling. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tommy loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and telling stories to them as well as anyone and everyone else that would listen. Tommy enjoyed watching Netflix, YouTube, and TikTok videos while drinking a fresh cup of coffee no matter the time of day.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Samuel, his mother, Mary, his son, Thomas Sr., and his grandson, Thomas Jr. He is survived by his daughter Michelle, several grandchildren (Thomas III, Sy, Dalayna, Dominick, Adarah, and Rainah), and great-grandchildren (Chloe and Kaven).
Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2021 from 12 pm until 1 pm at The Funeral Chapel.
Graveside services will be 2 pm Friday at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Brother Michael Douglas officiating. The Monroe County Veteran's Honor Guard will have Military Rites.
