Obituary for Mary Elizabeth Brummett
Mary Elizabeth Brummett, 70, of Bloomington, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at her residence.
Born August 16, 1950 in Los Angeles, California she was the daughter of Lee and Lilly (Childry) Burquin.
She married Mark Anthony Brummett on June 23, 1972 and he survives.
Mary was a first and third grade teacher at Community Christian School; she also taught American Sign Language and was an interpreter for the deaf community. Mary was a member of Ellettsville House of Prayer. She also loved to sing, play guitar and piano.
In her free time Mary liked to read but most importantly she loved to just help people of all kinds. She will be truly loved and missed by many.
Survivors include her husband Mark of 48 years; son, Nathan Brummett; daughter, Melissa Brummett; brother, Charles Hay; sisters, Rebecca Kauffman and Tressy Hay; three grandchildren, Lukas, Logan, and Lilly, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kay Hay.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 310 N Johnson Ave, Bloomington, IN 47404.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Ellettsville House of Prayer or Indiana Association of the Deaf.
