Josephine “Bonnie” Bailey, age 67, of Spencer, Indiana passed away at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was born in Monroe County, Indiana on October 3, 1953 to Bart Mitchner and Ruth (Robertson) Hamil, and raised by her mother and step-father, Orville “Shorty” Hamil. Bonnie attended Owen Valley High School. She loved her flower gardens and took great pride in her lawn care and house decorating. She loved any animals, mushroom hunting in the spring, cooking big dinners, and family get togethers. She was able to travel and spend time with her fiancé, Eddie Frye before her passing. Bonnie loved her family and will be missed dearly.
Bonnie is survived by, sisters, Helen Jones of Texas, Ruby (Bill) Bates of Freedom Indiana, Shirley (Lloyd) Christy of Spencer, Indiana, fiancé, Eddie Frye of Bloomington, Indiana, nieces and nephews, Loretta King of Bloomington, Lesa Pemberton of Plainfield, Kevin Pemberton of Spencer, Tami Vager of Texas, Conway Felton of Bloomington, Shellen Rucker of Texas, Kaylo Jones of Arkansas, Jason Christy of Spencer, Ashley Eads of Spencer, Jackie Smith of Kentucky, Jessica Thompson of Spencer, Jacob Wyatt of Gosport, and Shane Williams of Kansas, 15 great-nephews, 20 great-nieces, 9 great-great-nephews, and 17 great-great-nieces, and several cousins and close friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Paris “Mickie” Bailey, parents and step-father, grandmother, Hatti (Johnston) Robertson, sisters, Lula Kinser, Avy Williams, Cleta Weddle, and Patsy Smith, brothers, Ronnie Wyatt, nieces and nephews, Scott Hawkins, Earleen Williams, Rick Smith, and Jo Smith, and her Yorkie, Velvet.
