Obituary for Michael Raymond Stewart
Michael Raymond Stewart passed away on February 24, 2021 in Bloomington while surrounded by his children.
Mike was born on June 18, 1953 in Bloomington to Willard Cairl Stewart and Billie Bonnie Stewart Ashcraft Yates. A lifelong Bloomington resident, he graduated from Bloomington High School South and spent most of his life working as a stone mason in the Bloomington area. While not working, he enjoyed using the latest electronic gadgets and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always a giver, never a taker, the most generous man you would ever meet. He always made sure to put others before himself.
He is survived by his children Justin Stewart (TJ) of Carnation, Washington, Jeremy Stewart (Christy) of Fishers, Indiana and Jessica Stewart Espinoza of Bloomington as well as his grandchildren Elanna Espinoza, Alice Stewart and Xander Espinoza. He is also survived by his stepmother Burnis Stewart of Bloomington and siblings Suzette Stewart Weakley (John), Jeffrey Hutchison (Alta Gaye), Misha Wilson Kirts (Marc), Joe Lynn Ashcraft Quinn (Phil) and Richard Ashcraft (Terri) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Stewart and Billie Yates, as well as siblings Rosanna Stewart, Eula Pearl Stewart Love, William Joseph Stewart and Michael DeWayne Wilson.
Visitation will be Monday, March 1 from 11am-1pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard. A private service will follow at 1pm with burial afterward at Mount Ebal Cemetery.
