Obituary for Michael Bert Sansone
Michael Bert Sansone, 85, of Bloomington passed away Friday, March 5, 2021at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born, May 22, 1935 in Bloomington he was the son of the late Bert and Martha (Moulton) Sansone.
Michael was a 1953 graduate of Bloomington High School and served for the United States Marine Corp from 1953-1957.
He was co-owner of the family owned business Bert’s Produce. He had a love for his family, God, and country. Michael was a proud Marine and a charter member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include his world and loving wife Janet of 57 years of marriage in which they raised two daughters, Sally Dalton (Tim) of Butler, KY; and Amy Bland (Larry) of Bloomington. He is Papa to Ty Bland, Sophey, Sydney, and Saydey Dalton, and sisters, Evelyn McMillian and Augustine Stillions (Dan) and many loving nieces and nephews.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Bert and Martha; sister, Barbara Minett; and brothers Robert and Vincent Sansone
Visitation will be Monday, March 8, 2021 from 11am until 1 pm at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 2655 S. Adams St. in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship with Pastor David Wigington and Don Rader officiating. Burial will follow at Smithville Cemetery where the Monroe County Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Benevolent Fund in care of the church.
