Obituary for Robert Dale "Bob" Johnson

Robert Dale “Bob” Johnson, age 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at his residence on Friday, March 26, 2021. He was born in Glen Rogers, West Virginia on April 21, 1927 to Orna and Jean (Brown) Johnson. Bob served in the United States Army during WWII. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands off of Alaska and also on Okinawa. Bob was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed golfing, IU and WVU sports, and bowling. He once won the West Virginia State Bowling Championship, and competed in the USBC Masters Tournament. Bob was a Master Mason in the Masonic Lodge.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Nancy Mitchell of Indianapolis, sons, Charles Johnson (Lori) of Evansville, and Allen Johnson of Indianapolis, grandkids, Eric Johnson, Logan Johnson, Allison Johnson, Jessica Miller, Beth Mitchell, Sara Mitchell, and David Mitchell, and five great-grandkids.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Allen) Johnson, parents, son, A. David Johnson, brother, Ornie Johnson, and sister, Cynthia Turner.
Visitation for Bob will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be private due to Covid-19 restrictions, but will be streamed through The Funeral Chapel Facebook page beginning at 11:55 AM on Wednesday.
