Obituary for Mary Ann Arthur
Mary Ann Arthur, 73, passed on to a better place, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at IU Health Hospice House.
Born November 18, 1947 in Martinsville, she was the daughter of Bernard and Anna (Laffoon) White.
Mary graduated from Martinsville High School. She married John Gilbert Arthur on August 4, 1972 and he survives. Mary worked at GE for 25 some years before retiring in 1996. During retirement Mary loved quilting, spending time with her puppies, gardening and tending to her flower beds. She loved Christmas and making people laugh; practical jokes were not uncommon around her. Mary loved her family and friends and would defend them to the end. She also didn’t mind telling you just what she thought. She will be truly missed by her husband and many others.
Survivors include her husband of 48 and a half years; her sister, Brenda Landfair; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lorine White and Wayne White; a nephew, Michael “Little Bit” White, Jr. and a nephew, Ronald Landfair.
The family is following Mary’s wishes, which were cremation with no services.
