Obituary for Burl Eugene "Junior" Sipes, Jr.

Burl Eugene “Junior” Sipes, Jr. 56, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2020 at his residence.
Born September 19, 1964 in Bakersfield, California, he was the son of Burl Eugene and Bernadine (Bunch) Sipes, as well as his step-mother, AnnaJo Lawson.
He married Veronica “Roni” Short on August 26, 1993 and she survives.
Junior was a Bloomington South High School graduate. Junior worked as a truck driver for Best Beers, a machine operator at Print Pack and a custodian at IU. He loved to do anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting and watching races. Junior attended Apostolic Bible Church here in Bloomington.
Survivors include his step-mother, Anna Jo Lawson; wife, Veronica Sipes; sons, Carter Sipes and Nick Lapesto-Sipes; daughter, Hayley Sipes; grandson, Kyler Ray Sipes; brother, Jerry Sipes; sisters; Juanita Chastain and Mandy Maners; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eric Sipes; sister, Cindy Jean George; nephew, Derek Sipes; and his special hunting buddy, Anthony Sipes.
The family has chosen cremation with a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
