Obituary for Gaylord Ray Henry
Gaylord Ray Henry, 87, of Bloomington passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Gaylord was born July 24, 1933 in Hindustan, Indiana and was the son of the late Otis and Dorothy (Close) Henry.
Gaylord spent his early years farming in Johnson and Monroe Counties. He also worked in the quarries and held various other jobs throughout his life.
Gaylord married Mary Catherine Bastin on May26, 1953 and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage until her passing on October 14, 2020. They had 3 children, Martha, Carol and Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Henry; parents; Otis and Dorothy Henry, his daughter Martha and son-in-law Willard Baker.
Gaylord is survived by his daughter Carol, Son Daniel and daughter-in-law Debbie, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and one sister, Byrle Jeffiers
Services for Gaylord will be 1:00 pm Saturday, April 17, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Pastor Don English will officiate the service with burial to follow at Whitehall Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at The Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers for Gaylord will be Mark Bastin, Steve Bastin, Phil Lentz, Jade Harris, Mike Bastin and Andrew Dwyer
