Sara White, age 65, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Hearthstone Health Campus in Bloomington. She was born on October 29, 1955 in Bloomington to Burton and Mary (Headley) Atwood. Sara graduated from Bloomington High School North in 1973, and was an Administrative Assistant at Indiana University School of Education for almost thirty years. She was a member of Southern Hills Christian Church. Sara enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and she loved a good laugh. She loved giving funny gifts, and the grandchildren always received the noisiest gifts from her at Christmas. Sara was very passionate about rescuing dogs, mainly miniature schnauzers.
Sara is survived by her husband of 44 years, John White, daughters, Jessica Warthan (Tracy) and Jacquelyn Bedel (Matt), her beloved dog, Stewie, grandchildren, Jeremiah Sears, Wyatt Warthan, Audrey Warthan, and Charlotte Warthan, Kaylynn Bedel, and Jayla Bedel, sisters, Judy Carr (Dick), Rhea Weaver (John), and Nina Rogers (Bob), and several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great nephews.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of friends and family will be from noon until 2:00 PM on Friday, April 30, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 30, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bloomington Animal Shelter in Sara’s name.
