Obituary for Michael Adam "Mike" Hovious

Michael Adam “Mike” Hovious, 33, of Bloomington passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. Mike was born March 30, 1988 in Bloomington.
Mike was a proud graduate of Bloomington North High School and worked at Best Buy for the past 13 years. Mike loved his country music and performing on stage. All he could talk about was his next talent show. He loved to play guitar and sing country songs with his Uncle Vince. He was always looking for an opportunity to sing for you. Mike loved life. He loved all people. Mike never met a stanger and if he did, you were only strangers for a moment. Mike was extra special. He had a way of changing you for the better. Mike touched so many lives.
Mike is survived by his parents, Lisa and John Knapp, and Bill and Meghan Hovious, four brothers, Matthew Hovious (Mindy), Mark Hovious (Stephanie Reed), Jakob Hovious and Seth Knapp (Ania Winders), maternal grandmother, Mary Eads-Hodges, uncles, Vince and Victor Eads, Jeff Hovious, and aunt, Tammy Patton. He adored his nieces and nephew, Izzy, Zoey, Harper, Ariana, Kassidy, Addy and Draven and all of his many cousins. Mike loved his family beyond words.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill and Erma Hovious and maternal grandfather, Charles R. “Bob” Eads.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Sunday, June 6, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington, with Vince Eads and Jeff Hovious officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8pm Saturday, June 5, 2021 and 11-1pm Sunday before the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Riley Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
