Obituary for Mary G. Cavin

An amazing wonderful lady has gone to her Heavenly home. Most precious mother of four children. Mary G. Flynn Cavin, age 100, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Evergreen Village in Bloomington. She was born in Monroe County, Indiana on May 10, 1921 to Ulyses Grant Hettle and Floria E. (Branam) Hettle. Mary was the caretaker of her family and was involved in volunteer work. She is known for her famous cornflake cookie. Mary was a 50 year Eastern Star Member, and a member of the First United Church for over 70 years. Mary greatly enjoyed life and will be missed dearly.
Mary is survived by her children, Robert “Tony” Flynn (Janet), Mia Burton (Raymond), Cathy Truelock (Randy), and Kevin Flynn (Lois), grandchildren, Rob Flynn, Eloise Clemens, Melissa Lowery, Melanie Hoersting, Katie Maul, Sarah Hendrickson, and Chadwick Romero, step-grandchildren, Craig, Chris, and Brandon Truelock, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and step-brother, Johnnie Kerr.
Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Flynn, second husband, Clair Cavin, parents, grandchildren, Raelynn Romero Johnson and Derrick Ping, four sisters, one brother, and one step-brother.
Visitation for Mary will be from 10:00 AM until noon on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at noon at The Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
