Obituary for George Wayne "Bub" Wilson
George Wayne “Bub” Wilson, 66, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully at IU Health Hospice House on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
He was born on January 14, 1955 in Bloomington to the Robert and Alta (Phillips) Wilson.
George was employed at General Electric and worked as a foreman and coordinator. He was a faithful member of Whitehall Pentecostal Church, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who enjoyed his model train sets and watching Nascar.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Vicky J. (King) Wilson; daughters, Stacy Wilson and Mindy M. Hughes; grandchildren, Kirk Wilson, Estachia Eberly (Aaron Sciscoe), Zachary Kindred (Angelica), Tyler Kindred (Lauryn Phelps), and Bryce Kindred; great-grandchildren, Emma Kindred, Walker Kindred, and Zoey Sciscoe; siblings,Patty (John) Staggs, Leslie (Becky) Wilson, JoAnn (Roy) Copeland, Peggy Shiflet (Jeff Haley), and Rebecca (Anthony) Warner; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wilson; sister, Roberta Kent, and her husband Frank Kent.
Visitation will be 11am to 1pm Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, with Pastor Bruce Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery.
