Obituary for Alta Marie Wilson

Alta Marie Wilson, 87 of Bloomington went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 with her family by her side. Alta was reunited with her son George who passed just 5 days prior.
Alta was born March 28, 1934 in Monticello, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Willie and Nancy (Kidd) Phillips.
Alta was one of the earliest members of Whitehall Pentecostal Church for over 60 years, and still attended when her health would allow. Church was very important to Alta and was a priority in her life. After church her family was her life especially her grandchildren. Alta was a homemaker, mom and mamaw devoting her life to her family. Alta also enjoyed going to yard sales.
Alta was reunited in Heaven with her husband Robert who passed November 28, 1984, her son George; daughter, Roberta Kent and her husband Frank; three great great grandchildren, Haven Lucas, Mikayla Lumpford and Cameron Matthew Wilson along with several brothers and sisters.
Alta is survived by 4 daughters, Patty (John) Staggs, Jo Ann (Roy) Copeland, Peggy Shiflet (Jeff Haley), and Rebecca (Anthony) Warner; son Leslie “Les” (Becky) Wilson; daughter-in-law Vicky J. Wilson; sister, Lucy (David) Bond; brothers, Homer (Delores) Phillips, and Ozzy (Mary Sue) Phillips; 18 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.
Services for Alta will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Pastors Anthony Warner, Jacob Warner and Bruce Kelly will officiate the service and burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation for Alta will be from 11:00 am until service time on Tuesday.
