Obituary for William Robert "Bill" Phillips II

William “Bill” R. Phillips went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 20, 2021. He retired from Allison’s in Indianapolis where he worked for 35 years. Born June 9, 1947 in Indianapolis, he was the son of W.R. and Elsie Phillips.
Bill was a wood crafter and enjoyed making bird houses and feeders. He spent his retirement watching birds, feeding the deer and working on his “plantation.” He was a member of South Union Christian Church and the Hoosier Hills Emmaus Community.
He is survived by his loving family – his wife of 15 years, Rebecca “Becky” (Hancock) Freeman of Bloomington; son, William “Robbie” Phillips III (wife Rikki) of Mooresville; daughter, Krissy Kinser (husband Mac) of Greenwood; stepson, Dustin Freeman of Bloomington and Scott Ricketts (wife Jennifer) who he held in his heart as a son. He has one grandson, Richie Melvin and two granddaughters, Danyel and Ashlyn Ricketts.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, W.R. and Elsie Phillips and stepson Nathan Freeman.
Viewing will be held at The Funeral Chapel in Bloomington on Sunday, July 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 26 at The Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jim Cain officiating.
