Obituary for Norma Jamison

Norma D. Jamison, of Bloomington, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at IU Health Hospice House, surrounded by her closest loved ones.
Born October 2, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Henry and Marcella (Schmudde) Smith. Norma moved to Bloomington in 1952 where she graduated from University High School in 1960. She was a receptionist at and retired from Bloomington Convalescent Center in 1996. She married the love of her life, Earl Ivan Jamison on June 4, 1987 at Arby’s in Bloomington. He preceded her in death July 13, 2018. Norma was a member of Woodhaven Christian Church.
Norma is survived by her brother, Bill (Pat) Ballew of Bloomington; son, Philip (Micco) Cain of Japan; step-son, Deron Jamison of Bloomington; daughter, Teresa Jamison (Randy Fluke) of Bloomington; grandchildren, Randall Jamison, and Sydney (Chip) Newsome. She is also survived by her very special great-granddaughter, Morgan, who she loved more than anything and who brightened Gigi’s final years.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two children, David and Christine Cain.
Her family would like to give special thanks to special friends and family who ran errands, provided emotional and spiritual support, respite for her daughter and endless companionship including: Finley Russell, Judy and Jerry Cooksey, Kelli Clingan, Jo Ann Chambers, Steve and Debby Baker; and her dear friend Carol Bennett.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 4-6 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington, Indiana and Monday, August 9, 2021 from 9am until the hour of service.
Funeral services will be on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10am with Steve Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
