Janet F. Porter age 74, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Janet was born on October 2, 1947 in Bloomington to Virgil O. “Butch” and Betty (Stephens) Butcher. Janet loved shopping, enjoyed bingo, crafts, making her kids happy, and spending time with friends. She always tried pleasing people, and was a great mother.
Janet is survived by her son, Roger Porter (LeAnn), daughters, Jeanna and Terrie Porter, daughter-in-law, Tina Porter, grandchildren, Ronnie Campbell, Kendall Porter (Brittany), Trista Chupp, Ricky Chupp (Lacy), Jessica Shields, Shayla Ellis (Brian), and Gavin Porter, great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Vanessa, Bailee, Lucas, Landon, Jace, Brayla, K’yvell, Madison, Tinsley, Ariel, and Liam, sisters, Judy Gilliland and Cathy Glasgow, several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, son, Brad Porter, grandson, Brandon Porter, and her children’s father, Bobby Porter.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until Noon on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM at Richland Cemetery in Bloomington.
