Obituary for Thelma Maxine Teague

Thelma Maxine Teague, 100, of Bloomington passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the IU Health Hospice House. Thelma was born, February 3, 1922 in Iowa and was the daughter of the late Ora and Julia (Evans) Coffman.

Thelma retired from the Indiana Memorial Union where she was the Manager of the Cafeteria and previously had managed the Sugar and Spice Shop. After retirement Thelma went back to work at J.C. Penny for several years. Thelma enjoyed playing Bridge with her many friends.

Thelma is survived by her daughter and son-n-law, Susan and Denny Russ; grandchildren, Amanda (Zachary) McCoy, Robert (Meredith) Russ, Tom Teague, and Carol (Matthew) Thornton; great grandchildren, Adelyn McCoy, Lucas McCoy, Grant (Kelsey) Teague, Triston Thornton, Amelia Thornton, and Bobby Russ; great great granddaughter, Freyja Teague; and her former husband, Charles Teague.

Thelma was preceded in death by her son, Billy Teague; parents; two sisters, Mabel Cowger, and Geneva Myers, and her brother, Harold Coffman.

Visitation for Thelma will be on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 11am until 12 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard. Services will follow at 12 pm. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
