David Dale Bond, age 79, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at his residence on Friday, May 20, 2022. He was born on October 4, 1942 in Brown County, Indiana to Joseph “Walter” and Mary Ellen (Deckard) Bond. David graduated from Brown County High School in 1961. He worked at Cummins Diesel for 40 years before retiring and working at Lowe’s, John Deere, Napa, PTS, Young Trucking, and Abe Martin Lodge. David enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his children and grandson, Caleb. Most of all, David loved his working at the church and spending time there.
David is survived by his loving wife, Lucille (Phillips) Bond, son, David “Bruce” Bond (Amy), grandson, Caleb Bond, brother, Jim Bond, sister, Faith Floyd (Jerry), sister-in-law, Marilyn Bond, brother-in-law, Miles Barnes, and several other family members.
David was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Lynn Bond, parents, brothers, William “Bill” Bond (Judy) and Joseph “Joe” Bond, sisters, Phyllis Ann Bond and Florence Barnes, and sister-in-law, Linda Bond.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2022 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Belmont Chapel, 5579 Lower Schooner Road Nashville, Indiana with burial to follow at Duncan Cemetery in Brown County. Reverend Bruce Bond will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Belmont Chapel in David’s name.
