Joan (Crouch) Hayes, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in Bloomington, Indiana. She was born on June 9, 1929. Joan was the daughter of Tracy and Annie Crouch. Joan married the love of her life on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1947, Harold Franklin “Frankie” Hayes. Joan enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. They spent many years camping at Lake Lemon and Paynetown. Joan worked briefly at Sarkes Tarzian and RCA. Joan spent many years as a member of Women’s Auxiliary at VFW and Eagles of Bloomington. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Joan is survived by her son, Michael K. Hayes, also several grandchildren, Melissa Ann LaClair, Julie (JR) Hayes, Billie Jo (Ashley) Hayes, Mickey (Chastina) Hayes, great-grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer), Nick, Chris, Shay, Cole, Kaylee, Jasmine, and Carlie, great-great-grandchildren, Brentley, Maverick, and Francis, sister, Mildred (Robert “Bob”) Carter, and one sister-in-law, Joann Crouch.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Tracy and Annie Crouch, husband, Harold “Frankie” Hayes, three brothers, Bernie Demaree, Bill Crouch, and Larry Crouch, and one sister, Mary Ann Goss.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 310 N. Johnson Ave Bloomington, Indiana.
