Obituary for Scott Strange

Scott Allan Strange, 63, of Franklin and formerly of Bloomington passed away unexpectedly while visiting friends in Bloomington on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Scott was born July 6, 1958 and was the son of Dale Strange and Linda Banks. Scott was a 1976 graduate of Edgewood High School and attended Indiana University, and also served 4 years with the Navy Medical Corp.

Despite Scott’s illness he was determined to live life to its fullest and he did so through his music. Scott was a member of the band Pet Monkey and they played frequently until the pandemic didn’t allow. He entertained at Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities and loved to sing all the time regardless of if he had an audience. He also enjoyed being a DJ for weddings and birthday parties. In addition to music, Scott was a fan of Indiana University and Butler sports, and was especially excited by IU’s prospects for the 2022-2023 season.

Scott is survived by his wife, Clarinda “Rynn” Strange; mother, Linda Banks; father, Dale (Jan) Strange; Henry “Mr. Puppo” his Jack Russell Terrier; sister, Beth Robinson (Mark) of Springville; brother, Father Todd Strange, Issaquah, Washington; niece, Megan Corwin (Matt Neal) of Springville; nephews, Wesley Robinson of Indianapolis and Bradley Robinson of Zionsville; and great-niece, Addelynn Jane Corwin of Springville.

Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Robinson; and his Strange and Banks grandparents.

Services for Scott will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the North Central Church of Christ, 2121 N. Dunn Street Bloomington, IN 47408. Scott’s family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until service time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Johnson County Animal Shelter in Franklin, or to the American Heart Association.
