Obituary for Lovecia Mae Hardy

Lovecia Mae (Adkins) Hardy, 92, of Bloomington, IN died June 21, 2022, of natural causes.

She was born to Henry Virgil Adkins and Thelma Naomi (Duncan) James on October 21, 1929, in Bloomington, IN. She was married to Wm E. Hardy of Bloomington, March 7, 1949.

For most of her life, she was a homemaker, mother and caretaker. She volunteered at the Bloomington Hospital and had worked at RCA and Sarkes Tarzian as young woman. She was a member of the American Legion, The Women’s MCAP Auxiliary and attended the West 2nd Street Church of Christ.

Know for her sharp wit and laughter and her love for family, she was an avid reader and bird watcher.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Edward (Bill) Hardy.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda D. Easter of Bedford; Lori A. and her husband, Tom Collier of Bedford; Lee-Ann and her husband Andy Granger of Minneapolis, MN; two sons, Wm Randall and his wife, Sande Hardy of Raleigh, NC; Mark Edward Hardy of Bloomington. She had 40 grandchildren (including all great grandchildren). Sisters, Ruby Wiles of Mesa, AZ; Judy Johnson of Green County, IN; Rita and her husband Gary Steele of Green County, IN; and brother, Dennis Adkins of Gosport, IN.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana. Services will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M.
