Obituary for Patty Marie Staggs
Patty Marie Staggs, 70, of Bloomington, passed away quietly on June 25, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Patty was born May 30, 1952 in Bloomington and was the daughter of the late Robert and Alta Marie (Phillips) Wilson. Patty was a cook for many years having worked at Bruce’s Café, Hinkle’s, Shoney’s and Cloverleaf. She spent more than 20 years cooking for various sororities and fraternities at Indiana University. There was nothing more that Patty loved to do than spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Patty is survived by her daughter, Olivia Staggs (Dustin Payne); son Brad White (Leigh); grandchildren, Jacob Pfaff, Lydia Pfaff, Hailey White, Eli White, Erica Payne and Jaylynn Payne; sisters, JoAnn Copeland (Roy), Peggy Shiflet, and Rebecca Warner (Anthony); brother, Leslie “Les” Wilson (Becky); sister-in-law, Vicky Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Staggs (September 18, 2021); parents; sister, Roberta Kent and brother, George Wilson.
Visitation for Patty will be on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 4-8 P.M.at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard and on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 10 A.M.until service time.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 11 A.M. with Patty’s brother-in-law, Anthony Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens where Patty will be laid to rest next to her husband John.
