Obituary for Saundra Kay Kahl

Saundra Kay Kahl, 80, of Bloomington passed away on Saturday August 6, 2022 at IU Health Bloomington.
Saundra was born January 1, 1942 in Bloomington and was the daughter of the late Claude Wayne “Jug” and Anna Loraine (Spinks) Gobert.

Saundra graduated in 1959 from Bloomington High School. She worked at RCA and then worked as an Administrative Assistant with MCCSC serving at Binford, Batchelor and Jackson Creek. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Omega Sorority.

Saundra is survived by her daughter, Valerie “Val” Kahl; brother, Steve (Susan) Gobert; granddaughters, Katie Turner and Annie Stephenson, and their parents, John Turner and Catherine Gray and son, Gray Stephenson; nieces, Alexia Hamric and Katrina Kerr; nephews, Ryan (Amber) Gobert, Matt (Lacey) Gobert, Jim (Michelle) Hamric, Jason (Lori) Kahl, Chris Kahl, Andy Kahl and Clayton Kahl; sisters-in-law, Karen (Darrell) Rose, Linda (Mark) Fields, and Carol Kahl, and several great nieces and nephews.

Saundra was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Kahl (2014); parents; sister, Claudia A. Hamric; brothers-in-law, Mike Hamric and Melvin Eugene Kahl; and nephew, Shawn Kahl.

Visitation for Saundra will be 5:30-7:30 pm Thursday, August 11, 2022 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard and on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 9:30 am until service time.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Friday, August 12, 2022 at The Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mary Beth Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Saundra’s family would like to give a special thanks to Gentry Park and their wonderful nurses and staff that helped care for Saundra and for her friends that cared for her as well.

In lieu of flowers donations in Saundra’s memory may be given to Bloomington City Golf Tournament Hall of Fame c/o Connie Hardin 4142 W. Carmola Dr. Bloomington, IN 47404.
