Obituary for Todd Anthony Brown
Todd Brown, age 53, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at IU Health Hospital in Bloomington, IN on Wednesday November 9, 2022.
Todd was born in Harlan, Iowa on June 28, 1969 to Gary R. Brown and Donna J. Majerus (Brown). He proudly served his country in the United Sates Army and later in the National Guard. Todd had a deep passion for health care. He started working as a house keeper scrubbing toilets, and ended his health care journey earning a master’s degree in finance, later working as a director for Optum. Todd never forgot where he came from, no matter which position he was working.
Todd enjoyed fishing, wood working, and driving his little Kabota tractor. Most importantly, Todd was a family man. He loved his family most of all. His wife was the light of his life; there wasn’t anything Todd loved more than his wife, Debra. His grandchildren were his joy. Todd’s favorite thing to do was to share treats with his grandchildren. Todd’s kids were the apple of his eye. Although Todd had many kids, blood never mattered to him; he would bring anyone into his home and take them under his wing. He poured everything into his family and those around him. Todd never asked for anything, but would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who asked.
Todd is survived by his wife, Debra Brown; children, Bethany and Matthew McKinsey, Andrew Brown, Hannah Brown, and Adam Brown; grandchildren Sorin McKinsey and Silvianna McKinsey.
He was preceded in death by his father Gary Brown, and brother Troy Brown.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, Indiana. Memories of Todd and online condolences to his family may be made at www.thefuneralchapel.net.
