Obituary for Carol Jean Mullis
Carol Jean Mullis, 77, of Bloomington passed away on Sunday December 4, 2022 at the IU Health Hospice House with her family at her side.
Carol was born January 2, 1945 in Bloomington and was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Freeman) Alexander. Carol worked for over 20 years as a Nurse.
Carol was a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church and loved gardening and her flowers. She enjoyed taking long drives, traveling, and spending time with her lifelong best friends who have always been by her side. What brought her the greatest joy was her family and she loved attending sporting events for her grandchildren, sometimes several events in different locations on the same day.
Carol is survived by her children, Shelly (Jeremy) Banks and Brad (Missy Blackwell) Mullis; grandchildren, Ashley Mullis, Alex Mullis and Gavin Banks; sister Janet (Tom) Kiser and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, William Bradley Mullis; brothers, Robert Lee Alexander and James Boyd Alexander; and her nephew Ben Alexander.
A Celebration of Carol’s life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carol’s memory to Sherwood Oaks Christian Church or American Cancer Society.
