Obituary for David W. Jack

David Wayne Jack was born on October 17, 1956 to Willie M. Jack and Dorothy J. Jack in Gary, Indiana.
His father, Willie M Jack, mother, Dorothy Jean Jack, Brothers, Willie Jack Jr., Joseph W. Jack, Timothy J. Jack, (Faye), and spouse Carol Jack preceded him in death and he transitioned into eternal life on December 23, 2022.
David attended West Side High School in Gary Indiana and Graduated in 1975. He played on the varsity Basketball Team his sophomore to his senior year. He was part of the 1972 Westside varsity basketball team who won the state Championship.
He attended Indiana University immediately after graduation and majored in Business administration. Thereafter, he began cross country Truck driving for Schneider trucking company. After 7 years of cross-country trucking, he settled down. In 1989, he married the love of his life, Carol and born to them was David Thomas Jack. Carol had 2 children, Aaron and Laura Beth prior to and they came together as one blended family.
David soon had to leave the road and settle down with his new family. He began working for Ford. After 21 years, he retired from Ford, as a department Supervisor. After that he was at Points Electronics for four years. And finally, he began a career at Carlisle in Bloomington, Indiana. Ultimately, David was able to retire from Carlise after 6 years of service.
David enjoyed basketball and baseball and was an avid supporter of his Alma Mater - Indiana University. He was also a Cubs fan since a child and was happy when the Cubs won the pennant and ultimately, the World Series. It was a miracle that he was able to see that win, after so many years as a dedicated fan. Rain or shine, David was there for the Cubs.
His favorite saying was: “You can't beat me… Which he said to all his siblings and anyone he knew. His family counted on him for the Fourth of July Barbeques or those Spaghetti and fish fries on Fridays. His mother was a fantastic cook and he and his son experimented on all types of cuisine. His son is a chef as a result of it. David was the best driver anyone could imagine. If you traveled with him and tried to drive and you were a female, he would say” Hand over the keys, No chick drives me!” What a personality!
David was loved by all who met him and had to endure his side-ways humor. When he was a boy scout, instead of scary stories by the campfire, he was telling jokes that had everyone on their backs laughing!
It is a sad day to have lost someone such as David Wayne, but God is getting a good one and I'm sure there is a smile on God’s face.
