Obituary for Teddie "Ted" Shoufler

Teddie “Ted” Shoufler, age 78, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Ted was born on April 11, 1944 in Linton, Indiana to Ernest “Doc” Shoufler and Alice (Bays) Shoufler. He was a 1962 graduate of Bloomington High School, where he ran track and cross country.
He was known by his grandchildren as “papaw moo”, and adored the time he spent with each of them. Ted enjoyed golfing, grilling, family gatherings, and was an avid IU and St. Louis Cardinals fan. His humor was unmatched, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Ted, knew his personality was greater than life. Ted never met a stranger, and his presence was radiant to all who were around him.
Ted is survived by his wife, Rita Shoufler; children, Roger Shoufler (Rhonda), Shannon Joy (TJ), Jill Neal (Johnny Winters), and Jeanette Shoufler (Mark Richardson); grandchildren, Sara Robertson, Matt Shoufler, Drew Shoufler, Luke Fisher, Paige Fisher, Alison Thomas, Phillip Thomas, Mason Thomas, Alayna Thomas, Patrick Williams, Avery Neal, and Ben Flake; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Sharon Sexton.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Russell; and his brother, Jim Shoufler.
