Obituary for Gary Lee Todd

Gary Lee Todd, 77, of Bloomington passed away unexpectedly on Friday January 20, 2023 at his residence. Gary was born June 26, 1945 in Bloomington and was the son of the late James and Martha Irene (Sanders) Todd.

Gary was a 1963 graduate of Unionville High School and served several years in the United States Army. He had worked at RCA and spent over 30 years at Indiana Bell/Ameritech where he was an installer. Gary was an Exhibitionist Marksman in the military and also did trick shooting. These feats Included shooting coins in the air, splitting a bullet in half by shooting a steel knife blade, and could also put a bullet through a washer with tape over the hole in midair. Gary loved fishing and hunting, making his own ammo, arrows, and Hot Toddy fishing lures. He was also famous for his deer jerky. His greatest love was his beautiful wife and watching his kids and later grandkids participate in sports. Gary was a member of Little Union Baptist Church, Monroe Masonic Lodge #22 F&AM, and American Legion Post #18.

Gary married Evelyn E. Evans on June 10, 1967 and she survives along with their children, Tammy Todd (Steve Rone), Kevin Todd (Danielle), 3 grandsons, Evan Todd, Drew Todd and Aaron Todd, brother-in-law, Charles “Charlie” Evans and niece Jennifer Torrance.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law, George and Loretta Evans, and sister-in-law, Connie Evans.

Services for Gary will be 3 pm Tuesday January 24, 2023 at Little Union Baptist Church. Pastor Grant Quimby will officiate the service and burial will follow at Little Union Cemetery where the Monroe County Veteran’s Honor Guard will have Military Rites.

Visitation will be from 12 pm until service time at the church on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers donations in Gary’s memory may be given to the Monroe County Veteran’s Honor Guard or Little Union Cemetery.
