Obituary for Anne Dunn (Breck)

Anne Breck Dunn, age 85, formerly of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital on Friday, January 27, 2023. She was born on December 4, 1937 in Shelbyville, Indiana to J.W.O. and Martha (Hession) Breck. Anne graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University and DePauw University. She met her husband of 57 years, W.R. Dunn, while attending school at Indiana University. Anne was a teacher in Gulfport, Mississippi, and obtained her real estate license after moving back to Bloomington. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Past President of the Boys Club Auxiliary, Vice President of Tri Kappa, and Treasurer of the Boys Club Auxiliary. Anne was an avid bridge player, earning her Life Master, and started bridge tournaments in Bloomington, running them for many years. She was passionate about music, with a love for singing and playing the piano. Anne was an avid Indiana University Athletics fan, wearing cream and crimson proudly. She also loved to travel, with her favorite place being Sanibel Island.
Anne is survived by her son, Charles “Charlie” W. Dunn (Stephanie), and sister/brother-in-law, Jane and Don Martin. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Michael Breck, John Breck, Donnie Martin, Rob Martin, Deborah Dunn Dixon, and Dee Burris.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband W.R. Dunn, an infant son, parents; brother and sister-in-law, William and Katie Breck; brother/sister-in-law Charles “Pete” and Barbara Dunn; and nephew Austin Breck.
Visitation for Anne will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana, and again on Monday from 10:30 A.M. until service time.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at The Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
