Obituary for James I. "Jim" Marshall
James I. “Jim” Marshall, age 80, of Bloomington passed away peacefully on Monday March 13, 2023.
Jim was born November 21, 1942 in Anderson, Indiana and was the son of the late James W. and Anna Mae (Clem) Marshall. Jim attended Ball State University and later served for several years in the National Guard.
Jim was first and foremost an artist. He loved woodworking and working with his hands and his artistry showed in the numerous houses he renovated over the years. In addition to his craftsmanship with houses he owned and operated Mid America Battery for 35 years.
Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years Lynette Marshall; children, Kevin (Cindy) Marshall, Norman (Tina) Marshall and Kelly Tabereaux; brother, Thomas (Janice) Marshall; and grandchildren, Gavin Marshall, Sydni Marshall, Trevor Woodall, Michael Woodall, Zane Marshall, Zayla Marshall, Zoey Marshall and Trey Tabereaux.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim’s family will receive friends on Saturday March 18, 2023 from 5-7 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will take place at a later date.
