Obituary for Maurice "Bud" Allcron
Maurice “Bud” Allcron, 74, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday March 29, 2023. He was born in Bloomington, Indiana on July 21, 1948 to the late Norma Douglas. Bud married Georgenna Randall on April 2, 1967. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
Bud graduated from Bloomington High School in 1966. He joined the Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam as a Military Police Officer. Upon his discharge from the Army, Bud started his law enforcement career with the Indiana State Police on April 1, 1972. He retired as Detective Sergeant on July 2, 2005. Upon retirement from ISP, Bud worked for the Inspector General’s Office.
In his free time, Bud enjoyed building and working on computers, working on home projects, fishing and spending time with his family.
Bud was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Georgenna, his children Kevin (Shannon) Allcron and Sarah Allcron-Campbell and his grandchildren Ryan and Jake Campbell, Kelly Allcron. Also surviving are his brother, Ronnie Douglas, and sisters Sharon Newlin and Lisa (Wyatt) Southern.
Services for Bud will be 1 pm Tuesday April 4, 2023 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Burial will follow the service at Hanson Cemetery where the Monroe County Veterans Honor Guard will have military rites.
Visitation will be on Monday April 3, 2023 from 4-7 pm and on Tuesday from 12 pm until service time at the funeral home.
