Linda Kay Edwards (Eads), 77, was called to her eternal home on Sunday, April 16, 2023. She was cared for in her home by her children with tremendous help from her nieces, Kim (Wiley) Taylor, Jo Payne, and Teresa (Payne) St. John, until her final hours, in which they lovingly surrounded her at the Hospice House.
She was born June 4, 1945, to the late Orville & Margaret (Palmer) Eads. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, William “Bill” E. Edwards, sisters, June (Eads) Payne and Joyce (Eads) Parrish, and brothers Jerry Joe Eads, Rodney Eads, Robert Eads, Phillip Eads, and Richard Eads.
She worked in food service most of her life; she and her husband owned Dog ‘N Suds in Bloomington and operated the concession stand for many years at Bloomington Speedway. She retired from Kroger after 26 years as manager of the Deli & Cheese Shop in Seminary Square. She was a dedicated member of the Bloomington Moose Lodge for over 55 years, serving as an officer of the Women of the Moose, volunteering or waitressing for most of that time. She was an avid BINGO player, enjoyed pulling that lever on the Slot Machines, and cherished many trips to the casinos with her sister, Joyce. She loved people and helping those less fortunate; she had a knack for making people feel special. She had a great sense of humor, and she knew how to have a good time; she loved to laugh and loved to dance….even with her walker!
She is survived by her brothers, Chris (Alice) Eads, and Jeff Eads; her sons, Kevan (Tina) Edwards, and Eric (Lee Ann) Edwards, daughter Sarah (Jared) Edwards-Trisler; grandchildren, Addison Trisler, Nolan Trisler, Ryan (Katie) Edwards, Derek (Karina) Edwards, Stausha (Shawn) West, Lindsey (Jordan) Kinser, Alexa (Julio) Freeman-Ares, great-grandchildren, Jordan West, Rylie (Kade) Oltman, Hannah Wray, Henry Edwards, Olivia Edwards, Ella Joers, Maddie Sparks, Benson Trisler, Lucas Ares, and Emma Ares, and great-granddaughter, Presley Oltman, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 21, 2023 with burial immediately following at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
